Karen Lam

Karen Lam works with clients on strategic messaging – whether they are pitching to prospective clients, reporting results, fronting the media in good times or in crises, or meeting with investors. As a communication and media consultant for 25 years, she has worked with leaders and executives in coaching sessions and training rooms to help them craft their message and project authentic executive presence.

Prior to her work in the learning and coaching space, Karen was a broadcast journalist and news anchor in Singapore. For a season, Karen served as a TV presenter while continuing her work as a trainer with long-time clients. She produced and presented a business interview programme for six seasons, featuring leading entrepreneurs in Asia. Karen authored a book on her insights and lessons on leadership and business in Asia in Power Talk: Insights from Asia’s Leading Entrepreneurs.

Merging her practical experience and exposure to various clients across a myriad of industries, Karen’s training programmes deliver usable skills in simple and concise frameworks. She works with clients to simulate realistic scenarios during her sessions, embedding new skills which are immediately applicable. Karen believes in holding space for a collection of views and insights, and giving credence to context over content.

Karen has established a reputation for herself as a highly-rated trainer and coach as seen in the long-term relationships she has with her clients. Karen works with leaders from the Boston Consulting Group, EY, Accenture, Malaysia Airlines, DHL, Fedex, CapitaLand, City Developments Limited, Olam Food Industries, Selvatore Ferragamo, United Nations Conference of Trade and Development, Wynn Macau Resorts, among others.

Karen is a certified coach of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council, a Behavioural Analyst qualified to interpret the DISC Personality System™ and a certified Practitioner of NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming). She also volunteers as a certified facilitator for couple profiling assessment Prepare-Enrich. Karen was voted one of the top speakers in the Coach Showcase segment at the World Business & Executive Coach Summit 2021 and was invited back to speak again at the following year’s Pre-Summit. Karen moderates at thought leadership conferences across Asia.
