Joanna Milligan is a commercially aware, highly trusted and motivated Senior HR consultant and Employee Relations Specialist. She has extensive operational and strategic experience working within complex multinational and multicultural organisations, supporting Consumer, B2B and Service platforms, most recently as Head of HR, UK & Ireland, for Sony Europe BV.
Joanna is an effective communicator, with the ability to influence and engage people at all levels. She quickly builds and maintains strong relationships, and brings a comprehensive knowledge of transformation and organisational change, employee relations, performance management, coaching and leadership. Joanna enjoys partnering with clients to develop workforce planning strategies, implement effective succession planning, and design and implement new policies in response to data-led activity.
Joanna acted as a business partner to multiple and diverse client groups within Sony UK & Ireland. She crafted the strategy, design and implementation of several initiatives to promote diversity, inclusion and wellbeing. This was achieved within a quick timeframe, and without an allocated budget or additional resource. Joanna liaised with Sony sister companies and European colleagues to further develop and imbed Wellbeing and Diversity initiatives, and to share Learning & Development and Performance Management strategies and processes. Liaising with focus areas and other in-country HRBPs to effectively plan and manage implementation of organisational changes on time, she did this without compromising diverse consultation processes or business critical projects.
Joanna is accomplished at managing sensitive and complex people issues, at all levels, and managing large scale projects, including both local and European-wide transformational changes and wellbeing initiatives. Joanna is appreciated by clients for her direct and yet warm, ‘human’ approach, both in regard to her communication style and development of people strategies.
She is CIPD qualified and currently training towards being an ICF (International Coaching Federation) accredited coach. Joanna is aiming to expand her profile to offer executive coaching and volunteer coaching hours to young people who are vulnerable to homelessness.
