Dr Stephen Duns
Dr Stephen Duns is Professor of Business Leadership at the Australian Graduate School of Leadership, executive coach and leadership specialist. Stephen has held several CEO roles in the UK and Australia and now focuses on supporting others to develop their leadership. In addition to his career as a CEO Stephen completed his doctorate in Business Leadership and combines his time researching and teaching on leadership, culture and change and supporting organisations and individuals with coaching and development programs.
Stephen has over three decades’ experience coaching and advising thousands of professionals. He is a Board and C-suite adviser and coach to Boards and CEOs globally. His areas of expertise include vertical leadership development, cultural engagement through change, leadership without authority and leadership in complex adaptive systems. Working across industries, Stephen has advised leaders and teams from organisations such as Bristol Myers Squibb, ANZ, Dulux, Zoom, Department of Defence, Australia Post, BUPA, Medibank Private and various community services organisations.
Stephen is accredited as the highest level, Master Practitioner, by the Association of Professional Executive Coaches and supervisors, in recognition of his contribution to the field and is a Fellow at the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Fellow at the Australasian College of Health Service Managers.
Stephen’s coaching practice is deliberately developmental to increase capacity to lead in complexity and enable transformational change. Stephen is also a memorable and engaging keynote speaker at conferences, workshops and podcasts. Stephen holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Bachelor of Letters (Psychology) and Bachelor of Arts (Philosophy), is qualified in the use of numerous psychometric instruments and is a Master Practitioner and Trainer of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP).
Stephen’s first book, Expert to Leaders: Managing the transition from technical expert to leadership has received widespread acclaim and he is working on his second book, Luminosity: An inquiry into the relationship between leadership and power, love and grace.
