
Dr Rebecca Newton
Dr. Rebecca Newton is an Organisational Psychologist, CEO of CoachAdviser and Senior Visiting Fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science in the Department of Management. Prior to this she was a Visiting Fellow at Harvard University. With a PhD in Organisational Psychology, Rebecca has spent 20+ years researching and teaching on leadership, management, culture and change at the LSE. She has taught executive education for LSE, Duke Corporate Education, University of Cambridge, Harvard Business Publishing and Harvard Law School.
Rebecca has over two decades’ experience coaching and advising thousands of professionals. She is a Board and C-team adviser and coach to CEOs globally. Her areas of expertise include authentic leadership, leading people through growth and transformation, leadership sustainability, women in leadership, and driving systemic culture change.
Rebecca was awarded the highest-level coaching and mentoring accreditation, Master Practitioner, by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council, in recognition of her contribution to the field and is a Fellow at the Harvard/McLean Institute of Coaching.
Working across industries, she has advised leaders and teams from organisations such as AstraZeneca, American Express, AXA Partners, Coca-Cola Enterprises, Electronic Arts, Ericsson, Google, HSBC, Microsoft, Mishcon de Reya, Nike, PwC and various UN agencies.
Rebecca’s work with clients blends coaching and tailored advice, and she co-creates tailored development experiences to drive behavioural change and meaningful collaboration. A regular keynote speaker and facilitator of development programmes, a sample of her engagements include Accenture, Eversheds, EY, GE and NatwestMarkets.
She is regarded by her clients as an engaging and trusted adviser. Alongside her corporate work, Rebecca has spoken at the Harvard Kennedy School, the European Association of Work and Organizational Psychology, and chaired sessions for the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and the British Psychological Society.
She serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Change Management and has contributed numerous chapters to books on leadership and organisational change. She has been featured on BBC Radio 4 on organisational culture change, BBC London Radio and Wharton Business Radio on leadership, and is LinkedIn Learning Instructor on co-leadership. She is a regular contributor to Forbes and the Harvard Business Review. Rebecca is the author of Authentic Gravitas: Who Stands Out and Why (published 2019, TarcherPerigee, Penguin Random House).
