Dr. Katie Best

Executive Coach and Leadership  Specialist

Dr. Katie Best is a leadership coach and consultant, a Visiting Research Fellow at King’s College London Business School, and lead tutor on LSE’s MBA Essentials programme. She has taught executive education for LSE, King’s College London Business School, Cass Business School and Hanken School of Economics. Her doctoral research looked at the intersection of culture, leadership, strategy and interaction. She was formerly the MBA Director at Business School, designing the multiple award-winning MBA (Legal Services). Katie is an Associate Certified Coach with The International Coaching Federation.

Katie coaches mid- to senior-level leaders, helping them to unlock greater leadership abilities, and working with them to overcome barriers and achieve individual and organisational excellence. She works with clients to identify leadership needs, design diagnostics, create bespoke solutions, develop leadership ability and drive growth. She has been engaged with this work for nearly two decades, during which time she has advised and coached leaders and organisations on leadership, strategic implementation, culture and change. As a result, she is currently working on a book, focused on the transition from mid- to senior-leadership. Katie has already been published in top-ranked journals on the topics of strategy, leadership and communication, and has contributed to books on leadership and strategy.

She is regularly invited to speak to current and future leaders on their challenges and solutions, for example how to exercise their influence. As such she has been a panellist for Women of Silicon Roundabout; the RISE Women in Broadcasting network; and has spoken at the Academy of Management. She has also been interviewed on Sky News, BBC News 24, and in The Times and The Telegraph.

She has extensive experience in the sectors of finance, accounting, legal, consulting, technology, creative, education and charitable sectors. Katie has advised leaders from organisations including Mishcon de Reya, EY, Verizon, Oxfam, KPMG, Barclays, Simmons & Simmons, Ropes & Gray, V&A Museum, NHS, Royal College of Anaesthetists and ICAEW.
